The Lodge welcomes families and children of all ages as well as corporate meetings and incentive retreats. Wild Goose Lodge is situated atop a hill on six green acres and overlooking the quiet village of French River. Cavendish and Kensington are not far away and even more fun is located in Charlottesville and Summerside, which are just a short car ride away. The Lodge at Wild Goose Lodge features a four-star Canada Select rating as well as a beautiful view of Price Edward Island from their large sundeck.
Whether you are interested in hunting, golfing or just being with family and friends, Wild Goose Lodge will tailor your experience to fit your needs. Wild goose hunting and bird hunting is available at the beginning of October and runs through December. The birds begin to migrate to the island from Labrador on the first day of October. Hunting trips are safe and you never have to worry about others as your trip is designed especially for you. You will have your own guide and will enjoy our private land leases for excellent goose hunting. Hunting sites are within a twenty-mile radius of the lodge and we can coordinate a local “plucker” to process your birds and freeze them for shipment back home. Duck hunting is also available and mallard, black and teal ducks are always in sight.
There are several golf courses located near the Lodge and the ultimate golfing experience is easily planned. There are several packages to choose from for several different courses in the area. Green Gables, The Eagles Glenn, Anderson’s Creek and Glasgow Hills are a short fifteen-minute drive away. The Links at Crowbush Cove is one hour away from the lodge. Pre-planned trips may even include stopovers at courses enroute to the Lodge. The lodge provides excellent accommodations while you are visiting and feature privacy and quite. Packages also include breakfast and dinner vouchers with Black Angus steak or market lobsters.
In the evenings, families, hunters and golfers will enjoy the bonfire pits and the commons room for relaxation, a book or a movie. This room features a 42-inch plasma television with satellite, VCR and DVD. During the day, there are several additional activities to enjoy such as softball, soccer, croquet, volleyball, horseshoes, beaches the Cape Tyron lighthouse and local museums. The Anne of Green Gables’ Museum is just a short drive away as is the fishing village of French River. Additional add-ons to your vacation include sea kayaking, deep-sea fishing and harness racing.
Corporate retreats and business meetings are common at the Lodge, as they are able to provide a casual and relaxing environment for team building and incentive trips. Barbeques are also available as well as private accommodations for twenty-five to thirty guests.
