Wild Goose Lodge is not completely separated from society, in fact, just a short twenty-minute walk will bring you to the quaint fishing village of French River or Yankee Beach. Cousin’s Beach is also a short trip away by car. There are also a few other villages that are not far from the lodge as well. Charlottetown, Summerside and Acadian villages are just short trips away with live theater, art, local products and harness racing. The home of Anne of Green Gables is also just a short nine-mile trip away from the lodge and features the Anne of Green Gables Museum. If you make it back by sunset, the Cape Tyron lighthouse is a ten-minute walk away and the best way to view the sun setting on Prince Edward Island.
While at the lodge, families will enjoy the plasma television complete with satellite, VCR and DVD. There is also a 16 by 60 foot sundeck great for catching a tan, getting a breath of fresh air or enjoying a beautiful view of the island. Children are safe wherever they choose to venture and this allow parents to relax and enjoy themselves without worry. The lodge has been providing a relaxing family vacation since 1988.
If a family wants a little different view than the Wild Goose Lodge, they can choose to visit the sister property at The Wharf on French River. Enjoy the sounds of the river or take a short walk to the beach. Facilities and sports equipment are also available for your use at the Wild Goose Lodge. These are two bedroom-housing units with three-piece baths. They also have their own picnic tables and propane grills available for your use.
Barbeques and picnics are made easy with picnic tables, grills and fire pits. There is enough room for the whole family and are great for family reunions. Enjoy excellent Black Angus steaks, market lobsters and mussels while you enjoy your stay. For a quiet and intimate dinner, each room has its own fully equipped kitchen.
