More and more women are becoming interested in what was once considered a men’s sport or pastime. Every year women are picking up a rod and reel in search for the thrill of that one big catch. Pond’s Resort is proud to present their Women’s Fly-Fishing school. For the last 3 seasons of the school, women have dubbed the school a fellowship and affectionately named it “Broads with Rods.”
June 15-17, 2007 women are invited to come to Pond’s Resort to learn all about fly-fishing. Located on the beautiful Miramichi River, women are coming for the best in fly-fishing. Even complete beginners are signing up for three days of absolute fishing fun. Highlights of the school are river trips by canoes, “shore lunch” and a memorable fishing experience with other women.
Is there a better way to enjoy fishing than with other women who share the same interests as you? The women’s fly-fishing school allows women to do just that. They will learn from certified, professional guides that have been fishing these water for over thirty years.
The school begins on a Friday, when women will learn about equipment, casting techniques and tricks. This training is primarily dry land so that you can get a feel for the equipment. That evening women will have the opportunity to meet fellow anglers, guides, instructors and recap the day. They will also learn to select flies for the next day.
Saturday morning begins with a delicious breakfast in the Fiddleheads Dining Room. Then you are off to the river to use your new expertise on equipment and learn to select and tie flies. Women will have the opportunity to fish in excluded pools with a student to instructor ratio of 4:1. At noon, you take a lunch break and from two to five – more fishing! Saturday night features a great dinner and “Fish Tales” with Pond’s Resorts own Keith Pond.
Sunday features more fishing, lunch and graduation from the Women’s Fly-Fishing School.
The Women’s Fly-Fishing School is also a great way to treat your female employees. Team building and bonding are just two of the benefits from attending this session. Women will enjoy the experience of learning something fun and challenging. There is also ample time to spend with each other doing something that you don’t get to do everyday. This is a great way to share in the successes of each other.
